[He says it like it might be a joke, but it's not. Shaking Cameron is, if nothing else, incredibly challenging. Once she told him he was sneaky, she didn't trust him. There was good reason for that.]

I stayed down here the whole time. [ and she just shrugged a shoulder slightly at that. because really, what could you say about the idea of maybe dying in space and suddenly having a creepy mask on your door?

his statement about his mom does have her brow arching slightly in curiosity though. ]

How is your family?

[Another shrug. His mom. She's his mom. What's there to say? She freaks out over everything and she's mostly crazy. She hallucinates his dad. She thinks if he goes too far away from her he'll die.

Okay that last part is probably true.]

They're okay.

[ Hey, at least he has his family here. For as long as she's been here, she really wishes she could have a few folks around like that. (eames doesn't count - that's just a complicated mess of emotionally repressed friends/team-mates ) ]

Good. [ she smiles at that, honestly glad to hear things seem to be okay for the most part.

an awkward pause and she is looking around for a moment, before asking: ] You wanna come in?

[ might as well hang out in her room instead of standing outside like dork rights? ]

[He just nods and goes in, taking a survey of her room. It's the exact size as his, at least the lower numbers don't have better suites or anything.]

I almost thought your room might be bigger than mine.

[ She just crinkles her nose, shrugging. ]

Yeah...no - the rooms suck no matter where you are.

[ though now she is wondering if she could do anything about that.

a sigh and she is just moving on... ]

Did you get a mask too?

[ and yep, she is just glancing over to hers that is still sitting out on the open on her other bed. ]

I think everyone did.

[She looks and he follows her glance]

[ yep, proves she hasn't been paying attention that much since the whole power outage. (she'll be kicking herself about that later) ]

I guess. [ odd symbolism she figures, but whatever, she really doesn't know how to even start with that. ]

[He's quiet for a minute. When he saw it he took it off before anyone else could, and hid it, because it wasn't - well.

[ Well that description just had her cocking her head to the side slightly in thought as she mentally envisioned that.

[John just looks over at her, like, yes, okay, are you going to finish that thought?]

[ Well that wasn't the reaction she was expecting and she can't help but shoot him with a confused look. ]

[ she just shrugged right back, smiling slightly at the corner of her mouth as she did. ]

I haven't seen it in years myself.

[ yep, that just got a giggle out of her as she rolled her eyes at it. ]
