if she wasn't sure she was in some twisted reality, she sure would think this is a damn dream still. ]

Say wh... [ she has to stop at that, looking slightly confused as she tries to wrap her head around that. ]

You can't say anything to anyone. My mom doesn't know it's fictional somewhere, she will freak out.

You and Hayley know.

You're serious here? [ she can't help but look slightly surprised for a moment, as she slowly nods in understanding. ]

Your moms Sarah Connor and you are actually John Connor?

[ yes, this is her asking just so it really sinks in. ]

And my dad is Kyle Reese.

[He looks slightly uncomfortable.]

And here I thought I had things to hide.

[ which does have her looking slightly apologetic, as she can only assume having secrets like that have to be interesting. ]

I swear I wont tell a soul.

Now it's your turn.

[ she just sighs, rubbing at the back of her neck at that. ]

What do you want to know first?

[ assuming she might as well ask what before she just throws everything at him. ]

Tell me something that's worth my biggest secret.

[ a long bit of silence comes at that as her face turns into a small frown, before she finally quietly admitted: ]

I can enter people’s dreams and take things they don’t want anyone to know about from them. [ or plant ideas...but she wasn't sure she should admit to that right away. ]

...It's in no way legal and I'm aware of that. And yeah, it even had me thinking I was in a dream here for nine whole months.

[ yep, chew on that for a moment, john. ]

[He's definitely thinking about that, now. The logistics. The how. The - well.

Everything.]

That's why your friend was packing.

Yeah...

[ she just nods briefly, as she frown grows clearly saddened by her thoughts now. ]

It's why he died as well - he thought this was a dream and he tried to wake up by killing himself.

[ and that is something she has only admitted to two people (topher and tyke) ]

But you don't think that anymore.

He died and didn't wake up - so yeah, it's apparently reality now.

[ a fucked up reality, but it apparently is now. ]

You can't tell anyone John. [ she suddenly asks almost pleading. ]

People think I'm just a random college student and I don't need them knowing I'm associated with a bunch of criminals and I might be one myself back home now.

[He nods]

I won't tell anyone.

[ she smiled faintly at that. ]

I figured you wouldn't - it's why I told you.

[ a beat, her brow furrowing ]

You ever find it hard keeping a secret like that - your life that is?

[He shrugs. It's hard to say, when his whole life has been that secret, when it's his entire existence. He doesn't remember not knowing and he doesn't remember not keeping it close to the chest.]

That's like me asking if you if I think it's hard that you ask questions. It's a part of who I am, now.

[ instantly, with a slight hint of amusement. ]

I ask for clarification and there is a point to my questions, okay?

[ well, most of the time there is, but she isn't about to say that. his words do have her shrugging slightly as she considered that. ]

Still doesn't mean it has to be easy - don't you ever wish you could just be honest with everyone and you wouldn't have to face the consequences of that?

Sure, I feel that way.

But there isn't a lot of point. Most of the people around me, my family, they're involved. I can talk about it with Cameron.

[ her brow arched at that, suddenly curious about the whole family thing (pretty sure you didn't have a sister in the movies, john?) ]

Is Cameron really your sister?

[He shrugs]

Not biologically.

And she gets what your life is about?

[ yes, she sort of is envious of that as she only really has eames for that type of thing...and well, thats a complicated relationship. ]

It must be nice. I'm still new to this whole secrets thing.

That's why you keep asking about them.

Basically.

[ she just shrugged, her nose crinkling slightly as she did. ]

I mean, I might know - or well, have some vague idea - what your life is like and what you might be dealing with there. But no one really will know the feeling of it all -- unless they have experienced it too. And having those type of people around you can only be a good thing - keeps you in check and all, right?

[ or at least she assumes so ]

You can't experience my life. That's why I live it. So you don't have to.

[He pauses]

If I do my job right, then you don't have to deal with what's coming.
